Holbeck Ghyll enjoys a privileged hillside setting between Bowness and Ambleside, with Windermere just a short drive away. Built as the Earl of Lonsdale’s hunting lodge in the 1880s, it now enjoys life as a beautiful country hotel & restaurant, and benefits from an astonishing view of Lake Windermere.

The interior is a tribute to the late Victorian Arts and Crafts movement, and it is immediately evident in the dining room’s polished oak panelling and sconce lamps. Great British Lighting created the wall brackets and matching chandeliers in an antique brass finish, complete with hand-blown shades. These beautiful pieces perfectly work with the hotel’s timeless aesthetic to create a truly classic atmosphere.
